Rob Zombie films

I won't touch on this much. I have watched Rob Zombie movies and I am yet to be a fan.
Tonight, we watched House of 1000 Corpses which was not an easy feat to find available for rent. Personally, I liked Devil's Rejects better even thought it is more on a twisted level. There is something to be said about Rob Zombie's vision. While it is not my taste, he does stand by his convictions. He has a vision and he goes with it. As an artist, you have to respect it. He does not half-ass his art. But while it was not similar to his House of 1000 Corpses or Devil's Rejects (my favorite of the RZ films I've seen), the Halloween films were more mainstream and more his style.

Silent House (2012)

Silent House's movie trailer looked good and suspenseful if not not scary. A young woman (Elizabeth Olsen) is trapped in a house. Cue the jumps, bumps and active imagination...and scary bad guys. And from the buzz, it sounded exciting. The movie was made in one continuous shot--really, it was just a collection of really long takes that really felt to the untrained eye as if there were no cuts or edits. The main character of Sarah (Olsen) is helping her dad and uncle clear out their old summer house when her uncle and dad have a fight, her uncle leaves and not long after, her dad has been attacked in another room of the house.

Rocky Horror Picture Show (live)

I know, when it rains it pours with these movie blogs. But I've watched a total of four movies this weekend. I've already posted about one in the past. I just posted about another. And here goes for the third movie I've seen this weekend... Rocky Horror Picture Show!... This movie is not brand new but it is an experience every time I watch it. Especially when you see it performed LIVE!

Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D

Alright, so big movies are going to start popping up to make even more money off their franchise and fame...we all knew it would happen. I mean, Disney is doing it, James Cameron is doing it and now, George Lucas is getting in on this money-making scheme.
And even though I wish it were not a damper on the pocket book, I was excited to see Star Wars Episode I: Phantom Menace in 3D today. And while I don't know if I will see all of the others in 3D, I am glad that another generation gets to experience Star Wars. And believe me, there were plenty of young kids in the theater today. Plenty of parents and older generations sitting eagerly in line behind us.

Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil

You know those horror movies where the stupid college kids go camping and get attacked by the back woods hillbillies? Yeah, this movie is sort of like that...sort of. Except Tucker & Dale are the hillbillies and the college kids have it all wrong. Imagine that side of the story!

The Replacements (2000)

I just randomly re-stumbled upon this scene about 5 minutes ago and figured it'd be great to discuss.
I don't enjoy watching football. But movies about football? I seem to like those.
My favorite? The Replacements starring Keanu Reeves, Rhys Ives, Orland Jones, Gene Hackman, Jon Favreau...
Favorite scene? When they bond in the jail and start singing and dancing to I Will Survive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpCZzycMhPk
