So, this entry is not one of a specific movie but a handful. What movies spook you? When it comes to October, I found myself really geared towards the Disney Channel or ABCFamily when I lived alone. Their stuff, while spooky, is not really scary. I have to avoid FX channel because they play The Strangers and Syfy and Chiller usually have the good, the bad and the B-movies in terms of horror and gore.
This year, I spent most of my spooks in front of the TV while watching the FX show American Horror Story and picking up a few films along the way like When A Stranger Calls and Teeth (which, Teeth isn't scary but a definitely cult classic). So, what movies really get me scared?
Maybe coffee and popcorn don't mix...but where else are you going to get MY view on movies?

Attack The Block
The main bulk of the reviews I read comprised of everyone complaining about how thick the British accents were for the main characters. My thoughts? Challenge! Also, Nick Frost (who everyone should know as one part of the Shaun of the Dead / Hot Fuzz / Paul duo) is the only name actor in it. Give it some good reviews, hard to find release in theaters and a free Redbox rental and I'm renting it!
Of course, as soon as I popped the disc into the player, I couldn't remember what it was about. Zombies? Aliens? Bullies? What kind of a film was it that I was getting myself into? Is it an independent film? Is it a cheap British film? Is it even worth watching?
Yeah, I watched it.

TV Rots Your Brain, Like Crack Cocain
Okay. I’m supposed to rate movies…but unfortunately I’ve not watched anything new or anything note-worthy. I’ve just been trying desperately to clear out my DVR. Sure, there are some movies on there but I’m only about half an hour in to Delirious (<3 Steve Buscemi) and I haven’t even started Date Night.
So, with the influx of new TV shows and seasons, I could give you my rundown…

KILLING ZOE
First and foremost, let me explain that I have done little to no research on this film.
This movie has been on my radar since about 2002, I would say. However, I have only recently seen it a good ten or fifteen minutes ago in 2011. So, it has taken me a while to get around to watching it. All thanks to walking past it in the movie rental last week and bumping it to the top of my movie queue...but it started with Quentin Tarantino and Eric Stoltz...makes sense.

FRIGHT NIGHT
Just to make it clear, I've seen both the 1986 and the 2011 versions within the same time frame. And I will be as biased as possible (aside from David Tennant as Peter Vincent...I cannot personally be biased on that one).
Premise: A teenager (Charley) realizes his next door neighbor is a vampire (Jerry). He has a mom, a girlfriend (Amy), a friend (Ed) and there is a TV personality vampire killer (Peter Vincent).

Here's how these things should go...
